well, has a HUGE star imploded and caused a gravtational field strong enough to prevent light from escaping, in our galaxy? if so, then yes. if not, then no.

We think so, but not sure, we believe black holes may anchor all galaxies. Don't fret, black holes may be more involved and a part of nature than we think. There is a theory that black holes shoot matter from our universe into another, while black holes from the other sends matter to ours via while holes. White holes have never been found, but they may be in the center of where many of our starts are formed, nebula. Think of it like jets in a pool, going 2 ways. A very important part of nature.

A galaxy is a collection of stars, and a black hole is within that galaxy. Black holes, we think, usually form when giant stars die and collapse in on themselves because of their enormous gravity. So yes, there is a difference, a black hole would exist within a galaxy the same as stars and planets.

A galaxy could theoretically be inside a black hole. but I don't believe a galaxy could be a black hole.

Is it really possible for a galaxy to be within a black hole? What about spaghettification and time changes?

We know so little about the nature of black holes, there is a lot that you cannot rule out. According to what we think, no it couldn't happen, but that's according to what we think we know and our current definition of galaxy.

Did People really go to the moon? why is the MOON called Moon? ever think of that? Plus if their really was life on other planets why have we not found any?

Yes. Because someone very early in our history called it that. Yes. Because space is bigger than you can imagine, this planet is to the Universe as a grain of sand is to Earth.

Black holes are just like molecules and atoms were... 100 years ago. We don't have the knowledge and technology to really find out what they are.

But what get's me is, why not spend a few billion dolars on a rover camera thingy and send it through to see what happends. I mean they spend that type of money bombing countries we can't even pronounce the name, might as well put a bit of it in research monthy down a black hole. greengrin.gif

How would we know what the rover saw?

We would never see the rover again, and the black holes gravitationsal field would not let radio or light waves get back to us.

That's the whole point, if by chance we do get something back, we know black holes are not the way we think they are. greengrin.gif I'd call it "operation A$urance" with the $ symbol, because it would cost tons of cash, just to be assured they really are the way we think. greengrin.gif

they probably too worried about a terrorist act dry.gif

the major problem is that we don't have money to do such a project

remeber we just came from a bad market mellow.gif

over all people just don't realize what a black hole can do compared to a a little terrorist attack sad.gif

heck i bet that people believe that terrorism is the end of the world and they are all hiding in bunkers just like in the cold war mad.gif

no one can really do anything about a black hole any ways

the earth will be destroyed one way or another sad.gif

Well what is thought is that a black hole is an old star that collapsed into itself, thus died. So I assume there's further steps involved in the "death" of a star even after it turned into a black hole, so I'm sure after a while they might be able to just die off. But that's just a theory I made up in about 30 seconds so don't count on it. laugh.gif

Worm holes bring you somewhere else. But some also think that black holes ARE wormholes, there's just no way of figuring it out without risking lives.

The only way out of a black hole is to travel inthe oposite direction of the pull, faster then the speed of light (well that's the theory). So an object going slower then light that gets too close will get sucked in. Again, I don't think they proved that yet.
