Ubuntu 8.10 is scheduled to be released in 11 days, with the release candidate coming in four! Anyone gonna download it?

I keep telling myself I’m going to wait a month or so after each release until I upgrade, but I always end up installing the beta, which is what I’ve done now. I’m impressed; Intrepid is like a refined version of Hardy. I love how quickly my computer (ThinkPad T61) wakes up from suspend and how quickly I’m connected to my wireless network afterward.

haha nice.

I like the fact that anything beta from the open source community is more reliable then fully up to date release version of a windows OS. tongue.gif

It very much depends on what hardware you have. I took Charlie in and out of suspend for about two months straight (restarted by choice), while some people can’t even suspend at all.

Earlier alphas corrupted some ethernet cards. The code was contributed by kernel developers upstream, so it affected other distributions too.

yeah I heard the Ethernet card one, that's freaky. What's more scary is that if that's doable through software, then think of the viruses one could write.
