Google! tongue.gif

http://www.gimp.org/windows/

The GIMP is sorta like Photoshop, only superior in every conceivable (and inconceivable) way.

Google "photoshop serial" after going through tons of virus sites (you should be using firefox anyway) you'll probably eventually find it.

Gimp is also a free alternative, and I hated it before but I'm sure it has greatly improved since last time I tried it.

My first choice is by far the GIMP - but I would like adjustment layers & layer grouping.
Another alternative is paint.net. I have no experience with it but it quite decent from what I have read of it. The big downside is that it only runs on windows XP2 or later compared to GIMP which runs on *nix/bsd, mac, windows, and linux

not the best thing to post in a public forum friend - even the sites selling 'oem copies' at a steep discount are pushing pirated copies usually, and 'free photoshop' (especially on a wide scale) is even more suspicious.

In my admittedly limited experience, few people 'need' PS unless they must work with 16-bit images on a regular basis, use layer groups and adjustment layers extensively, or any of the other premium features found in the Adobe package. Those people will find a way to purchase a licensed copy in that event.
That was my experience with Soundforge when my daily use pirated copy of SF 5.0 was seriously misbehaving - I found the money to legally buy Soundforge 6.0 (and had full support three years later when I had the need for another product registration key just a month or two back).

<end rant mode>
It is better to support open-source than to encourage pirates in my opinion. Buying PS Elements is usually an affordable choice for those wanting to stay with Adobe products.

good to see an actual photo manipulation in this thread - might eventually add one of my own.

Personally I don't really care about piracy when it comes to programs nobody can afford anyway, but yeah don't post on the forums. Take that by email so this site is excluded from transfer medium.

Yeah, I won't lie to you and say none of us here have ever used pirated software, but this is not a warez forum. So please try not to talk too much about where\how to get pirated software in the forum.

That's alright, don't stress about it. you haven't been here that long, so it's to be expected until you get a feel for what goes and what doesn't around here. not like you pissed anyone off or anything.
